Outline showcases the work of schmidt hammer lassen architects, widely recognised as one of Scandinavia’s leading architectural practices. The publication presents several internationally renowned projects, including the award winning Performers House in Silkeborg, Denmark, which last week scooped the Emirates Glass LEAF Award Grand Prix 2008 (see separate announcement ).
Twenty of schmidt hammer lassen architects’ (shla) key projects, including both built and unbuilt schemes from around the world are also profiled. The practice’s work is analysed according to key themes, including economic, ecological and social sustainability. Also considered in the publication is the effect shla’s striking and elegant architecture has on its surrounding environment, often forging links between public and private spheres.
In the preface, Barry Bergdoll summarises the publication with the following words:
